Ombre Rose Wins NZ Airfreight Stakes

Monday, 24th April 2006

Waikato Stud-based stallion O'Reilly (Last Tycoon-Courtza, by Pompeii Court) added a black-type success when ultra-consistent daughter Ombre Rose (O'Reilly-Lady Chanele, by Citidancer) made it 5 wins from her only 6 starts with a half-head victory in the NZ$30,000 Listed NZ Bloodstock Airfreight Stakes (1600m) for 3YO fillies at Riccarton Park. Ombre Rose (ridden by Brian Hibberd for trainer Shane Marr) defeated Smitten Kitten (Volksraad-Vanderbilt, by Last Tycoon) & Condore (Desert Fox-Anzam Dam, by Honor Grades). At her previous start Ombre Rose had won the Listed South Island Thoroughbred Breeders Stakes (1600m) on April 8.
