Redoute's Colt Future Cambridge Sire
Meanwhile leading NZ breeder Sir Patrick Hogan "has bought a new stallion prospect for his Cambridge Stud operation" with his purchase of an A$1.2 million Redoute's Choice colt (the 7th foal from Snippets mare Our Side Show) at the Inglis Easter Sale in Sydney, noted NZ Thoroughbred Marketing. Hogan confirmed: "He will be owned by the same syndicate which owns Zabeel. I will be calling a meeting of the Zabeel syndicate this week to discuss who will train the horse. He's the 1st son of Redoute's Choice that I have purchased & I was pleasantly surprised at the price, as I had more to spend on him. If he can achieve good success on the racetrack, then he will become a very valuable proposition as a stallion prospect & in any case his bloodlines will ensure him a future at stud. There are lot of Sir Tristram & Zabeel mares in the Cambridge Stud broodmare band & the Danehill sire-line has crossed very successfully with them in the past. He's a very nice horse & was 1 of 2 sons of Redoute's Choice that I sorted out to buy in Sydney. The other one was the top-priced A$3 million colt (bought by South African trainer Charles Laird) which was well above our budget."
