Thursday, 27th April 2006

In Victoria, 10-year-old stallion Ne Coupez Pas (Nureyev-Soundings, by Mr Prospector) will stand the 2006 season at Euroa-based Rangal Park Stud for $6,600. Ne Coupez Pas (a stakes-placed winner of 5 of his 12 starts in France) is currently 5th on the Australian 1st Season Sires table (by earnings) with 7 runners (from just 32 foals in his 1st crop) having started 19 times for 2 individual winners of $150,250. His star to date has been stakes-placed 2YO filly Satin Robes (Ne Coupez Pas-Spine Tingler, by Kentrice) who finished runner-up by a short-halfhead in last month's Gr3 Thoroughbred Breeders Stakes (1200m) at Flemington, runner-up by a short-head in February's Gr3 Blue Diamond Prelude (1100m) at Caulfield & runner-up on debut in the Listed Ritzenhoff Stakes (1000m) at Flemington in November; Satin Robes (who had been her sire's 1st winner when victorious over 1000m at Sandown on February 1) was passed-in for just $9,000 ($10,000 reserve) at the 2005 Inglis Autumn Yearling Sale.
