Danehill Dancer Up 54% To $55k

Friday, 28th April 2006

With 13-year-old Danehill Dancer (Danehill-Mira Adonde, by Sharpen Up) siring both last week's UK Newmarket Classic trials winners (Speciosa & Misu Bond), it's worth noting that agent Jamie McCalmont declared during last week's UK Tattersalls Breeze-Up Sale that "Danehill Dancer could be the new Danehill & his record is only going to improve as the products of the better mares he has had come through." The proven sire of Gr1 winners in both hemispheres (& himself a dual Gr1-winning 2YO) has had his 2006 Australian service fee at Coolmore raised by 54% to $55,000 (up from last year's $35,750). His 15 yearlings sold at the Inglis Easter Sale in Sydney averaged $360,667 including: a $1.6 million Danehill Dancer-Procrastinate filly bought by Wood Nook Farm: & a $750,000 Danehill Dancer-Professionelle colt bought by Japanese owner-breeder Katsumi Yoshida. Danehill Dancer (who has 26 stakes-winners) "is the leading sire in England at present & indications in Australasia are that he is set to play an increasingly prominent role," summed up thoroughbredinternet.com.
