Kentucky's Bernstein Returning To Argentina

Friday, 28th April 2006

Kentucky-based 9YO sire Bernstein (Argentina's leading freshman sire last season) will return to Argentina for the 6th straight year to stand the Southern Hemisphere season at Carlos Blaquier's Haras La Biznaga, reported thoroughbredtimes.com. Bernstein (Storm Cat-La Affirmed, by Affirmed) stands for US$25,000 at Castleton Lyons in Lexington & has sired 11 graded or group winners in 3 crops of racing age (with Argentine Gr1 winners, including Storm Mayor who last year won South America's most prestigious race the Gr1 Carlos Pellegrini). Katy Moore of Castleton Lyons (where Bernstein has been based since last year) commented: "We have been incredibly satisfied with Southern Hemisphere results. He is the leading sire down there by a landslide with only 2 crops running. He has had the winner of the 1st Gr1 race for 2YOs, 2-years-in-a-row. He is absolutely on fire down there & we are incredibly excited to see what happens with the rest of his South American crops."
