Alexander Goldrun Wins Irish Gr1 Pretty Polly

Meanwhile at Ireland's The Curragh on Saturday, highly fancied 5YO mare Alexander Gold Run (Gold Away-Renashaan, by Darshaan) recorded her 1st victory in almost a year when holding on by a neck in the €250,000 ($430,000) Gr1 Pretty Polly Stakes (10 furlongs). Now a 5-time Gr1 winner and ridden by Kevin Manning for trainer Jim Bolger, Alexander Goldrun won the race for the second year running, defeating Chelsea Rose (Desert King-Cinnamon Rose, by Trempolino) and Red Bloom (Selkirk-Red Camellia, by Polar Falcon). The latter had finished 2nd last year.
