Million Dollar Offer Rejected For Kiwi 2YO
Meanwhile, in further news from NZ Thoroughbred Marketing, the New Zealand owners of this season's Champion 2YO Jokers Wild (by Windsor Park's shuttler Black Minnaloushe-Miss Rory, by Rory's Jester) have turned down an offer of NZ$1 million for the dual Gr1 winning colt. Co-trainer of Jokers Wild Paul Moroney noted: "There have been about half-a-dozen inquiries from agents wishing to buy him and the money talked about has got up to $1 million." A NZ$40,000 yearling purchase at the 2005 NZB Yearling Sales at Karaka, Joker's Wild finished off his 2YO racing campaign on a high note, scoring consecutive wins in the autumn which included the Gr1 Ford Diamond Sires' Produce Stakes at Ellerslie and the Gr1 Ford Manawatu Sires' Produce Stakes at Awapuni. Now back in work, he is being aimed towards the Gr1 NZ 2000 Guineas at Riccarton in November.
