Itmaybeyou Digs Deep In Singapore 3YO Challenge

Tuesday, 4th July 2006

The star of NZ Fairdale Stud's exciting young stallion Howbaddouwantit (Rahy-Fair To The Wind, by Nijinsky) continues to shine following another crack performance by high class 3YO Itmaybeyou (Howbaddouwantit-Julie's Sailboat) to capture the second leg of the Singapore 3YO Challenge at Kranji last Friday night. Ridden by leading jockey Saimee Jumat for trainer Tim Pinfield, Itmaybeyou traveled wide throughout and was headed in the straight by eventual runner-up, Lim's Fighter (a son of Arrowfield Stud's Flying Spur), before fighting back for a determined victory. Itmaybeyou finished 3rd behind fellow Karaka graduate, Why Be (Success Express x Charybdis) in the opening leg of the triple crown series, and with that runner absent on Friday, Itmaybeyou proved too strong in the S$350,000 ($300,000) event, reported NZ Thoroughbred Marketing. Third was My Royal Captain (Zabeel-Kiwi Magic). Itmaybeyou was purchased as a yearling by Bruce Wallace for NZ$22,500 at the 2004 NZB Premier Yearling Sale at Karaka from the draft of Fairdale Stud.
