Siren Lure Wins US Gr1 Triple Bend

Tuesday, 4th July 2006

In a bitter-sweet result for Queensland's Wattle Brae Stud, 4YO gelding Siren Lure (Joyeux Danseur-Cantamar, by Gulch) won the US$300,000 Gr1 Triple Bend Invitational Handicap (7 furlongs) at Hollywood Park on Sunday (Monday morning Australian). Wattle Brae stood Joyeux Danseur (Nureyev-Fabuleux Jane, by Le Fabuleux) last season before the 12YO stallion died from a burst caecum in November. Ridden by Alex Solis for trainer Art Sherman, who had claimed the gelding for just US$50,000 last year, Siren Lure won from 5YO geldings Battle Won (Honour And Glory-Call Her, by Caller I D) & Unfurl The Flag (Bertrando-Escape The Storm, by Storm Cat) according to bloodhorse.com, who noted that Siren Lure has won 8 of his past 11 starts.
