Johannesburg Stocks On The Rise
Coolmore's freshman sire Johannesburg (Hennessy-Myth, by Ogygian) sired his 5th winner when Johann Star scored over a mile on the grass at Colonial Downs on Monday. The dark bay colt "led from wire to wire" and romped home by an impressive 41/2 lengths. Johannesburg has made an exciting start with his first runners. His winners include the unbeaten Todd Pletcher-trained colt Scat Daddy and the Jean-Claude Rouget-trained debut winner Rockmanella. Other promising performers include highly regarded colts Rabatash and Jo'burg. Johannesburg's first Australian yearlings sold earlier at this year's majors to a high of $380,000, and averaged over $90,000.
