Thursday, 6th July 2006

Leading Australian jockey Chris Munce is unable to leave Hong Kong until further notice, reports The Sydney Morning Herald: "Munce fronted Hong Kong Jockey Club stewards yesterday after surrendering his passport to anti-corruption officers inquiring into an alleged illegal tipping scandal." At this stage details surrounding the enquiry are still sketchy, however it is expected that full details will be released within the next few days. In the meantime, Munce "was released on bail by the (Hong Kong) ICAC yesterday." It is believed the saga could take a month to resolve.
