Dane Supreme Continues Good Form

Friday, 7th July 2006

Impeccably bred Hazelwood Stud Danehill sire-son Dane Supreme (Danehill-Prawn Cocktail, by Artichoke) is continuing to make his mark at stud, with his Doomben winner on Wednesday In A Circle making it 5 winners by his progeny in the past 2 weeks. The 1030m victory by In A Circle also established a new class record at Doomben. Boasting one of the world's greatest sire-producing damlines, Dane Supreme's dam is a half-sister to Coolmore Stud's Royal Academy (again in the news courtesy of siring the winner of South Africa's Gr1 Durban July Handicap Eyeofthetiger last weekend), and Terlingua, dam of Storm Cat, at US$500,000 the world's most expensive stallion. Dane Supreme is an unraced half-brother to Group winners Langoustine & One World, and stakes placed Marigot Bay. Progeny of his dam Prawn Cocktail have sold for up to $2.2 million, and Dane Supreme, a $375,000 Inglis Easter Yearling Sale graduate, was himself purchased by Demi O'Byrne, widely acknowledged as the best yearling judge in the world. Dane Supreme stands for $2,750.
