First Winner For Jungle Pocket

Monday, 10th July 2006

NZ Rich Hill Stud shuttler & Japan's Horse of the Year Jungle Pocket (Tony Bin-Dance Charmer, by Nureyev) sired his 1st winner in Japan yesterday when his 2YO son Jungle Techno won at Hakodate Racecourse. The timing couldn't have been any better for Rich Hill principal John Thompson, in Japan for this week's JRHA Sale at Northern Horse Park in Hokkaido, who commented, "It was great timing as we had only just arrived at Northern Farm to inspect some foals and we went to the office to watch the race. It was an impressive victory, and it continues the great impact Jungle Pocket has made with his first offspring both in New Zealand and in Japan". With his freshman southern hemisphere crop rising 2YOs, Jungle Pocket will begin quarantine shortly in preparation for his return to New Zealand for his 4th consecutive southern hemisphere season. He stands for NZ$12,000 + GST.
