Powrie Gets Nod For Senior NZ Appointment

New Zealand Thoroughbred Racing has appointed Fin Powrie, currently director of racing and chief steward of the Emirates Racing Authority in Dubai, to the new position of general manager in charge of integrity. According to thoroughbredinternet.com, Powrie, 51, was appointed chief steward of the Emirates Racing Authority in 2001 and director of racing in 2003 after serving as chairman of steward for the Western Australian Turf Club for 12 years. He began his career as a steward for the club in 1979. He will begin his new duties on September 19.
