Wildcat Bettie B Wins Gr1 Prioress

Monday, 10th July 2006

A strong pace provided the platform for Wildcat bettie B (Meadowlake-One Number Short, by Katowice) to pounce in the US$250,000 Gr1 Prioress Breeders' Cup Stakes (6 furlongs) over the weekend at Belmont Park. According to thoroughbredtimes.com, "As the field bunched up for the stretch run, jockey Mario Pino positioned Wildcat Bettie B four-wide for a clear path, and the chestnut Meadowlake filly responded to prevail in the final strides". Trained by Larrie Jones, Wildcat Bettie B defeated fellow 3YO fillies Wild Gams (Forest Wildcat-Diamonds And Legs, by Quiet American) & Livermore Valley (Mt Livermore-Secret Prospect, by Allan's Prospect). For Wildcat Bettie B, this was win number 5 from just 8 starts, and took her career earnings to US$313,420.
