9th Winner For Freshman Honours List

Tuesday, 11th July 2006

Also among the freshman sires, Widden Stud-based Honours List (Danehill-Gold Script, by Script Ohio) recorded his 9th individual winner when 2YO colt Bretton Woods (Honours List-Gold Change) prevailed in a 3-way-photo-finish over 1200m at Geelong for trainer Dan O'Sullivan. Overall Honours List boasts 9 winners of 11 races (plus a Gr2 place-getter) & his manager Sheriff Iskander summed up: "What you have to remember is that Honours List hasn't had the same opportunities as the other prominent 1st season sires, so he's really upgrading his mares & dominating his stock with speed & quality. What he's doing now really is only a pipe-opener to what will come with his 2nd crop. Trainers keep telling me how much they are looking forward to unleashing them as 2YOs in the next few months: it's really exciting & it shows just why breeders keep booking mares into him."
