Spinning World Adds Irish Gr3

Tuesday, 11th July 2006

In Ireland, Coolmore shuttler Spinning World (Nureyev-Imperfect Circle, by Riverman) added a group success when 3YO daughter Spinning Queen (Spinning World-Our Queen Of Kings, by Arazi) defeated her older rivals to win the €90,000 (A$144,000) Gr3 Brownstown Stakes (7 furlongs) for fillies & mares at Leopardstown. Spinning Queen (ridden by Michael Hills for trainer Barry Hills) won by a head from Wake Up Maggie (Xaar-Kalagold, by Magical Strike) & Modeeroch (Mozart-Majinskaya, by Marignan). At her previous start, Spinning Queen won last month's UK Listed Eternal Stakes (7 furlongs) at Warwick; that followed her 3rd-placing in the UK Listed King Charles II Stakes (7 furlongs) at Newmarket in May & runner-up in the UK Gr3 Nell Gwyn Stakes (7 furlongs) at Newmarket in April, plus last season's 3rd in the UK Gr2 Cherry Hinton Stakes at Newmarket.
