Rajeem Wins UK Gr1 Falmouth Stakes

Thursday, 13th July 2006

On the UK track overnight, 3YO filly Rajeem (Diktat-Magic Sister, by Cadeaux Genereux) scored an upset 0.75-lengths victory over her older rivals in the £200,000 (A$480,000) Gr1 Falmouth Stakes (8 furlongs) for fillies & mares at Newmarket. Starting at 50-1, Rajeem (ridden by Australian jockey Kerrin McEvoy for trainer Clive Brittain) defeated Cheveley Park's Gr1-winning fellow 3YO filly Nannina (Medicean-Hill Hopper, by Danehill) & 5YO mare Musicanna (Cape Cross-Upend, by Main Reef). Rajeem (purchased by Darley at the 2004 UK Tattersalls October Sale & racing in the colours of Saeed Manana) was a stakes-winner as a 2YO last season.
