US Congress Excepts Racing From Internet Bet Ban

In the US, the House Of Representatives "rejected an amendment that would have stripped an exception for horse racing from a Bill that would ban internet gambling," reported thoroughbredtimes.com. "With the exception in place, the Bill duly passed the House & will now be referred to the US Senate." US National Thoroughbred Racing Association chief executive Greg Avioli commented: "We are pleased Congress has reaffirmed horse racing's ability to continue to conduct internet wagering under the Interstate Horse Racing Act (an existing law)."
