Fallon Loses Appeal Against Suspension

Also in the UK overnight, an appeal board (chaired by former High Court judge Sir Roger Buckley) upheld the British Horseracing Regulatory Authority's suspension of 6-time champion jockey Kieren Fallon from riding in England until after his trial on a charge related to alleged race-fixing. Fallon (who was charged last week with conspiracy to defraud as part of the headline-hogging investigation by City Of London police) declared he would take further legal action, noting: "I will now take the matter to the High Court, & beyond if necessary, to reinstate my rights to earn a living in the UK & participate in the sport that I love."
