UK Book-Keeper Loses £1m In On-Line Bets
Friday Odd Spot 1: In Britain, a £16,000-a-year book-keeper "blew more than £1 million (A$2.4m) in an on-line gambling spree, leaving his company in administration," reported racingpost.co.uk. Bryan Benjafield, 23, pleaded guilty in Dorchester Crown Court to "stealing more than £1 million from his construction company employers over nearly 2 years". Police revealed Benjafield "had been gambling up to £17,000 (A$40,000) a day on internet poker, casino, racing & sports betting with UK bookmaking firm Ladbrokes just before he was arrested".
