UK Tatts Day-3: $546k Daggers Drawn Colt
In the UK overnight, bloodstock agent Richard Frisby (acting on behalf of Sheikh Salman Bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, nephew of the King of Bahrain) out-bid Dubai-based owner Malih Al Basti & paid the 2nd highest ever price for a horse-in-training at the Tattersalls July Sale when he went to 210,000 guineas (A$546,000) for triple-winning 3YO colt Rhythm'N Roots (by NZ Curraghmore Stud shuttler Daggers Drawn) during the 3rd session of the 4-day auction at Park Paddocks. The colt (consigned by Jim Bolger's Glebe House Stables) is out of Erins Isle mare Saana & recently won Ireland's Gr3 Ballysax Stakes at Leopardstown. Rhythm'N Roots will go into training with Allan Smith in Bahrain, with a view to racing there & in Dubai.
