In Australia, 1st-crop sire & former Coolmore shuttler Giant's Causeway (Storm Cat-Mariah's Storm, by Rahy) recorded his 1st Australian stakes-winner when daughter Causeway Lass (Giant's Causeway-Canny Lass, by Bletchingly) scored by 2.75-lengths in the $50,000 Listed Dequetteville Stakes (1100m) for 2YO fillies at Morphettville in Adelaide. Causeway Lass (ridden by Peter Robl for trainer Peter Moody) defeated favourite Aadelaidee (Keltrice-Mama San, by Switch In Time) & Al Anood (Danehill-Eljazzi, by Artaius). Causeway Lass (a $155,000 yearling at the 2005 Inglis Easter Sale in Sydney) is the 11th & final foal of former star racemare Canny Lass (a triple Gr1-winning full sister to Gr1 Golden Slipper winner & Woodlands Stud sire Canny Lad); Causeway Lass is also a half-sister to NZ Ashwell Farm stallion D'Cash (Danehill-Canny Lass). Overall Causeway Lass now has 2 wins & a runner-up from 3 starts for $43,500 earnings. Giant's Causeway stood for 3 seasons at Coolmore Australia, covering his largest book of 148 mares in 2004 (resulting in 111 live foals that are now weanlings); his 2006 service fee at Ashford Stud in Kentucky was US$300,000.
