Iskander Proposes BOBS Partnerships

Monday, 17th July 2006

Racing NSW is publicly supporting a proposal devised by Iskander Racing & Breeding to try & nominate more than 40 additional stallions for BOBS. Iskander Racing & Breeding proposes 10-person partnerships for each stallion which has not had its contribution fee paid into the BOBS incentive scheme, so as many sires as possible can be nominated before the September 1 cut-off date. Iskander Racing & Breeding principal Sheriff Iskander explained: "This is an initiative we believe is in the best interests of racehorse owners & the industry across the state. We believe in BOBS & as owners ourselves we know just how important it is to have an incentive scheme like this. So we're forming partnerships of 10 for stallions such as Galileo, More Than Ready, Danzero, Hussonet & Dehere. If you own a rising 2YO, it really is in your best interests to be a part of this. It will then cost a one-off $660 payment to make your horse eligible for BOBS & if you can win a metropolitan race you earn a BOBS bonus of $16,000. You can then double that up to $32,000 thanks to Racing NSW's Double-Up initiative, to buy another yearling by a BOBS-eligible stallion." BOBS pays bonuses to all eligible 2YOs & 3YOs that win at city, provincial & country tracks; over $4.5million in bonuses have been paid this season alone. The stallion nomination syndicates will receive 12.5% of BOBS winnings every time prize-money is earned & those earnings will be split & distributed proportionally to all group members.
