National Colour Wins SAf Gr1 Mercury Sprint

In South Africa, boom front-running 3YO filly National Colour (National Assembly-Rainbow Cake, by Mr Eats) "cemented her position as the best sprinter in the country & claimed her place place among the world's elite sprinters" as she recorded her 4th successive Gr1 triumph with a 1.5-lengths victory over her older rivals in the R400,000 (A$80,000) weight-for-age Gr1 Mercury Sprint (1200m) at Clairwood, reported SAHorseracing.com. National Colour (ridden by Brett Smith for trainer Sean Tarry) defeated Tiza (Goldkeeper-Mamushka, by Elliodor) & What A Question (Qui Danzig-Waseela, by Ahonoora). National Colour was a R150,000 (A$30,000) yearling purchase; overall she now has 7 wins (also including the Gr1 Man o' War Stakes at Turffontein on April 1, Gr1 Computaform Sprint at Turffontein on April 22 & Gr1 SA Fillies Sprint last start at Scottsville on May 28) & 2 placings from 10 starts for R1,013,000 (A$202,000) earnings.
