Kentucky Yearlings Day-1: $250k Vindication Filly
Gulf Coast Farm (the Florida pin-hooking operation owned by Jerry Bailey & Lance Robinson) paid US$250,000 for a filly from the 1st crop of champion Vindication (out of unraced Deputy Minister mare Destined) reported thoroughbredtimes.com. The filly was consigned by Bluewater Sales as agent for breeder Satish & Anne Sanan's Padua Stables (who raced Vindication, a 6YO by Seattle Slew who won the Gr1 Breeders' Cup Juvenile at Arlington Park & was undefeated in 4 starts as a 2YO. Jerry Bailey commented: "We thought she was a nice filly physically & we've been fans of Vindication. She's precocious & well-balanced."
