Monday, 24th July 2006

Auckland businessman Michael Tololi "has increased his already significant thoroughbred investment portfolio with the purchase of an Olympic-standard equestrian complex in Karaka, which will become the new base for his racing stable," reported NZ thoroughbred Marketing. Tololi confirmed he plans to build 20 stables (from which his private trainer Leanne Bertling will operate) to be known as Catamarca Lodge (after his star 2YO filly of 1999). With the Catamarca Lodge development added to Tololi's recent acquisition of Stoney Bridge Waikato & a new yearling farm at Urquhart Road in Karaka, Tololi "now has more than 300 hectares of land tied up in his thoroughbred racing & stud operations".
