All-Weather Track At Grafton

Tuesday, 25th July 2006

The Board of the NSW Country Racecourse Development Fund has formally approved financial assistance of $1.32 million "towards the construction of a new StaLok All Weather training track, plus strategic re-alignment of the course proper & B-grass surface, at Clarence River Jockey Club". CRDF chairman Gordon Lindley commented: "This development represents a major step forward for country racing in NSW, as it will be the 1st polymer-based track constructed outside a metropolitan or provincial centre & the 1st StaLok All-Weather track in Australia. The product does not require irrigation & as such, represents a major cost saving for the club, given its current dependency on town water."
