Wednesday, 26th July 2006

The 1st yearling offered for public sale from world champion racemare Sunline (Desert Sun-Songline, by Western Symphony) has been entered for the 2007 NZB Yearling Sales at Karaka. The Sunline colt is by champion stallion Zabeel (Sir Tristram-Lady Giselle, by Nureyev) & among an outstanding 77-lot draft from Sir Patrick Hogan's Cambridge Stud. The draft also includes: a brother to Gr1 Australian Derby winner Don Eduardo (Zabeel-Diamond Lover, by Sticks And Stones); a brother to dual Gr1 winners St Reims (Zabeel-L'Quiz, by L'Enjoleur) & Champagne (St Reims-L'Quiz); & a 3/4 brother-in-blood to world champion stayer Might And Power (Zabeel-Benediction, by Sir Tristram). Hogan told NZ Thoroughbred Marketing: "Overall this draft is the equal of, if not the best, put forward by Cambridge Stud to the NZ National Yearling Sales since NZB has owned the sales company. These yearlings feature exceptional black-print pedigrees & they are all going to attract the eye of the international buying bench." Cambridge Stud has been the leading vendor (by aggregate) at NZ's premier yearling sale for the past 25 years.
