Brown Riding Again From Aug 14

Friday, 28th July 2006

The Hong Kong Jockey Club "has adjusted the terms of the suspension handed down to Australian jockey Corey Brown & he is now allowed to resume riding in barrier trials & track-work from August 14," reported racenet.com.au. Brown was suspended for 6 months by HK stewards in April "after returning a positive swab to cocaine"; the penalty stopped Brown "from riding in races & track-work until September 28". However Brown "has provided a report to the HK Jockey Club showing his system to be clear of any banned or illegal subtstances, clearing the way for the former champion jockey to resume his career in Sydney in a little over a fortnight".
