Friday, 2nd March 2007

The Anthony Cummings-trained 4YO entire Replicator (Danehill-Sitella, by Shirley Heights) was euthansed "after suffering complications from an intestine problem," reported racenet.com.au. Cummings confirmed: "He had something in his large intestine that gave way & he got septicaemia & that was the end of that." Replicator (a $250,000 yearling at the 2004 Magic Millions Premier Sale on the Gold Coast) was back in work after previous bowel surgery in 2005; overall he recorded 2 wins (including the Gr3 Fernhill Handicap over 1600m at Randwick) & 4 placings (plus 4th in the Gr1 Spring Champion Stakes over 2000m at Randwick) from 17 starts for $135,000 earnings.
