Ambitious General Wins Jockey Day Classic

Widden Stud sire General Nediym (Nediym-Military Belle, by Without Fear) added a group success when the colt Ambitious General (General Nediym-Lake Lagoda, by Military Plume) grabbed a half-neck victory in the  $175,000 Gr2 National Jockey Celebration Day Classic (1800m) for 3YOs at Caulfield. Ambitious General (ridden by Damien Oliver for trainer Peter Moody) defeated fellow colts Danever (Danehill-Riveryev, by irish River) & Furio (Testa Rossa-Central Express, by Century). Ambitious General (a $65,000 yearling at the 2005 Inglis Melbourne Premier Sale) now has 4 wins & a placing (last start in the Gr2 Alister Clark Stakes over 1600m at Moonee Valley on February 17) from 6 starts for $199,650 earnings.
