Monday, 5th March 2007

Coolmore sire & former star sprinter Choisir (Danehill Dancer-Great Selection, by Lunchtime) added a juvenile feature success (& 4th individual winner this season) when the colt Incumbent (Choisir-Chalonne, by Rubiton) prevailed in a 3-way photo-finish to the $350,000 Inglis Premier (1200m) for 2YOs at Caulfield. Incumbent (ridden by Michael Rodd for trainer Graeme Rogerson) reached the lead in the final strides to score by a long-head from the filly Tresor (Belong To Me-My Mo Rally, by Mi Preferido) with a further neck to fellow colt Shrewd Rhythm (Danehill Dancer-Balcanny, by Canny Lad). Incumbent (a $255,000 yearling at the 2006 Inglis Premier Sale in Melbourne) now has a win & 3 placings from 4 starts for $293,200 earnings; her half-brother (by fellow Coolmore shuttler Royal Academy) is catalogued at today's Inglis Premier Sale. Meanwhile Choisir has 26 yearlings catalogued at the Inglis Premier Sale & 9 at the Inglis Easter Sale in Sydney.
