Inglis Premier Day-1: Average Up 13%

Monday, 5th March 2007

Overall on Day-1 at the Inglis Premier Sale, 177 yearlings sold for $12,840,500 at an average $72,545 (up 13% on last year) & a median $50,000. Inglis director Peter Heagney summed up: "We managed to secure purchasers from throughout South East Asia & South Africa which, together with our domestic buying bench, saw our average increase 13% on last year. While it's tremendous to have the likes of Redoute's Choice & Encosta de Lago head-lining the Melbourne Premier, it's important to remember that no less than 25 different sires were represented by yearlings which made $100,000 or more today, while 28 vendors from 4 states also sold 6-figure lots."
