Unbridled's Song Adds US Gr2

Monday, 5th March 2007

Former Arrowfield Stud shuttler Unbridled's Song (Unbridled-Trolley Song, by Caro) added a US group success when unbeaten 4YO entire Half Ours (Unbridled's Song-Zing, by Storm Cat) who last November brought a record US$6.1 million price for a horse-in-training sold at Keeneland, scored a half-length victory in the US$225,000 Gr2 Richter Scale Breeders' Cup Sprint Championship Handicap (7 furlongs) for 4YOs & up at Gulfstream Park. Half Ours (ridden by John Velazquez for trainer Todd Pletcher) defeated fast-finishing multiple graded stakes-winner Park Avenue Ball (Citidancer-Road To The Ball, by Cahill Road) & Gr1-placed Diabolical (Artax-Bonnie Byerly, by Dayjur). In December, Kentucky-bred Half Ours (who fractured an ankle shortly after his 4.25-lengths win in the 2005 Three Chimneys Juvenile Stakes at Churchill Downs) returned from a lay-off of more than 19-months to win over 6 furlongs at Aqueduct in New York; overall he now has 5 wins from 5 starts for US$294,670 earnings.
