5 Wins On HK Card To Aust Jockey Prebble

Australian jockey Brett Prebble "became the 9th on an elite list of jockeys to win 5 races on a day in Hong Kong & went agonisingly close to being the 1st to ride 6 winners," reported SCMP.com. As well as taking Sunday's Gr1 Chairman's Sprint Prize (1200m) at Sha Tin on Australian-bred 5YO gelding Absolute Champion (for Australian trainer David Hall), Prebble also scored on Gold Striker, Money Man, Helene Brilliant & Egyptian Ra before being pipped on the post aboard Fair Win. The other jockeys to have won 5 races on the same day in HK are: fellow Australians Glyn Pretty, Peter Miers & Gary Moore (twice); Frenchman Eric Legrix; South Africans Robbie Fradd, Basil Marcus (twice) & Douglas Whyte (twice); & Belgian Christophe Soumillon.
