Inglis Melb Record Average & Gross

Tuesday, 6th March 2007

Overall the 2-day Inglis Melbourne Premier Sale concluded with records for both average & aggregate: 371 yearlings sold for $25,027,500 at an $67,460 & a median $50,000. Inglis director Peter Heagney summed up: "Encouragingly, the sale has still realised an increase on last year, despite the number of Encosta de Lagos dropping from 32 entries in 2006 to just 8 this time around. Furthermore, we have been buoyed by the interest from overseas with the South Africans being very active, while the HK Jockey Club has also weighed in with two 6-figure purchases. It's a clear indication of the Inglis Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale's position on the international bloodstock calendar."
