Storm Cat Best-Ever Start To Stud Season
In Kentucky, Overbrook Farm's Ric Waldman announced 24-year-old sire (& the world's highest-priced stallion) Storm Cat (Storm Bird-Terlingua, by Secretariat) has impregnated 6 of his initial 7 mares bred this year in "his best start ever" to a breeding season, reported bloodhorse.com. Storm Cat (who stands at Overbrook Farm for US$500,000) has sired 150 stakes-winners & twice has topped the year-end US Leading Sires sires list by progeny earnings. At Keeneland's 2006 September Sale, 10 of his yearlings sold for more than US$1 million (including a colt for US$8.2 million to Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al Maktoum).
