Florida 2YOs: US$1m Street Cry Filly

Wednesday, 7th March 2007

Also in early action at Calder, John Ferguson (principal bloodstock agent for Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al Maktoum's Darley operation) paid US$1 million for a filly by Darley sire Street Cry (out of stakes-winning Meadowlake mare Holiday Runner) consigned by John Stephens. The filly ran 1 furlong in the joint-fastest time of 10sec during the pre-sale breeze-ups & Ferguson told thoroughbredtimes.com: "She's a beautiful filly. The mare was obviously quick & this filly was not only fast on the racetrack, but she has a beautiful action. It's no secret that Street Cry is a Darley stallion & obviously we love to support him when we can." Stephens (who purchased the filly for just US$100,000 at the Keeneland September yearling sale) declared: "Everyone was on her! She'd done really well here & she's just an exciting filly to be around."
