Vic Minister Calls For Melb Clubs Merger
Victorian Racing Minister Rob Hulls told radio station 927 Sport that Melbourne metropolitan race clubs "need to think outside the square when it comes to costs & attracting race-goers to the track" & that at least near-neighbours Moonee Valley Racing Club & the Victorian Racing Cub "could merge the back-of-house operations, the promotions department & then have a super club. It is really not a matter for me, but it is important to generate ideas. We have a great product, but we need to get people back to the track." Hulls added a single membership ticket is another idea for Melbourne clubs to consider, emphasising: "We must make it easier for race-goers to go to the track & be entertained."
