Banc De Fortune Wins Aspirations Quality

Monday, 12th March 2007

Coolmore shuttler Galileo (Sadler's Wells-Urban Sea, by Miswaki) added a black-type success when 3YO filly Banc De Fortune (Galileo-Danendri, by Danehill) grabbed victory by a nose over her older rivals in the $70,000 Listed Equal Aspirations Quality Handicap (1600m) for fillies & mares at Randwick. Banc De Fortune (ridden by Rod Quinn for trainer John Hawkes) defeated top-weighted 4YO mare Gawne (Flying Spur-Satin Covers, by Dr Grace) & fellow 3YO filly Viva Caro (Danehill Dancer-Coverage, by Covetous). Banc De Fortune (a $275,000 yearling at the 2005 Inglis Easter Sale in Sydney) now has 3 wins & a runner-up from 5 starts for $81,090 earnings.
