Tobemory Stud stallion Song Of Tara (Sadler's Wells-Flame Of Tara, by Artaius) added a group success when 5YO entire Spirit Of Tara (Song Of Tara-Gagoosh, by Marauding) charged down the outside to score a 0.75-lengths victory in the $100,000 Gr3 Randwick City Stakes (2000m) at Randwick. Spirit Of Tara (ridden by Jim Cassidy for trainer Gerald Ryan) defeated top-weighted Gr1-winning 5YO gelding Railings (Zabeel-La Suffragette, by Palace Music) & 7YO gelding Vanquished (Hector Protector-Exuberance, by Last Tycoon). Spirit Of Tara (a bargain $700 purchase at the 2003 Inglis February Thoroughbred Sale) now has 6 wins (also including the Listed Tattersall's Mile over 1600m at Eagle Farm & Listed Festival Stakes over 1400m at Rosehill) & 15 placings (including last start's Listed Parramatta Cup over 2000m at Rosehill on February 17 & January's Listed Frank Underwood Cup over 2000m, plus December's Gr2 Villiers Stakes over 1600m as well as the Gr3 Lord Mayors Cup over 1615m & Listed Sir Edward Williams Handicap over 1500m) from 46 starts for $543,400 earnings.
