Elusive City Full Book At Irish National Stud

Wednesday, 14th March 2007

The Irish National Stud confirmed southern hemisphere NZ Haunui Farm-based shuttler & 2002 Champion French 2YO Elusive City (Elusive Quality-Star Of Paris, by Dayjur) "will serve a full book of 155 mares during the current northern hemisphere season," reported NZ Thoroughbred Marketing. Haunui studmaster Mark Chitty enthused: "Elusive City's weanlings sold very well in the northern hemisphere toward the end of last year & his 1st-crop yearlings were well sought after at the NZ Bloodstock sales Karaka in January. These results have obviously filtered through to the breeders in Ireland & to have 155 mares booked is fantastic!" Elusive City won France's Gr1 Prix Morny (1200m) as a 2YO; his 1st yearling sold fetched $170,000 at Australia's Magic Millions Sale on the Gold Coast & was followed by 8 6-figure yearlings at Karaka (& a Premier Sale average of NZ$93,000). Chitty added: "To have the likes of Angus Gold, Grant Pritchard-Gordon, David Hayes, Gerald Ryan, Roger James & Paul Moroney all signing for his progeny says a lot for the horse & there is no doubt they will get every opportunity to perform."
