UK National Stud Seeks $1.44m Cash Injection
In the UK, the National Stud "has asked the Levy Board for an immediate £600,000 (A$1.44m) cash injection to carry it through the summer," reported racingpost.co.uk. Stud chairman Andrew Parrish "admitted the stud was under temporary financial & political pressure" but "played down suggestions the situation could be described as a crisis". Parrish also "scotched rumours the Newmarket-based stud is likely to report a 7-figure operating loss for the 15-month accounting period from 1 January 2006".
