Barathea Adds French Black-Type

Monday, 19th March 2007

Former Widden Stud shuttler Barathea (Sadler's Wells-Brocade, by Habitat) also added a French black-type success when Khalid Abdullah's home-bred colt Prior Warning (Barathea-Well Warned, by Warning) stormed home from the rear of the field to scored a 0.75-lengths victory in the €52,000 (A$83,000) Listed Prix Montenica (1300m on the all-weather track) for 3YO colts & geldings at Maisons-Laffitte. Prior Warning (ridden by Dominic Boeuf for trainer David Smaga) defeated fast-finishing High Dream (High Yield-Bahama Dream, by Machiavellian) & Gris De Gris (Slickly-Deesse Grise, by Lead On Time). Prior Warning now has 3 wins & a placing (in November's Listed Criterium du Languedoc) from 4 starts.
