Inglis March Day-1: Average Up 14%

Friday, 23rd March 2007

Overall on Day-1 at the Inglis March Sale, 138 lots sold (88.5%) for $939,700 at an average $6,809 (up 14% on last year) & a median $3,050. Inglis director Peter Heagney summed up: "I was delighted with today's results, which is indicative of the sustained growth in the thoroughbred industry. It also emphasises the role the March Thoroughbred Sale plays, providing buyers with the opportunity to purchase a wide range of bloodstock, particularly broodmares, with many of these in-foal to leading stallions & others with quality foals at foot. The Woodlands Stud decision to utilise March for its annual reduction also underlines this auction's relevance to the nation's sales diary."
