Downhill Racer Wins Magic Night Stakes

Monday, 26th March 2007

Coolmore shuttler Danehill Dancer (Danehill-Mira Adonde, by Sharpen Up) added a juvenile group success when daughter Downhill Racer (Danehill Dancer-Trick Ski, by Rory's Jester) grabbed victory by a half-neck in the $140,000 G2 Magic Night Stakes for 2YO fillies (1200m) at Rosehill. Downhill Racer (ridden by Jim Cassidy for trainer David Hayes) defeated fast-finishing Camarilla (Elusive Quality-Camarena, by Danehill) & Gamble Me (Rock Of Gibraltar-Good Gamble, by Pleasant Tap). Downhill Racer (a $300,000 yearling consigned by Swettenham Stud at the 2006 Magic Millions Gold Coast Sale) now has 2 wins & a runner-up (last start in the Listed Seppelt Wines Sprint over 1000m at Sandown on March 17) from 3 starts for $134,800 earnings.
