Monday, 26th March 2007

Overall during the opening session at the Magic Millions Premier Sale, 155 yearlings sold for $2,703,500 (up 12% on last year's 143 sold for $2,414,250). The $17,442 average was up 3.3% (last year $16,883) & the clearance rate was 80% (last year 77.3%). Managing director David Chester summed up: "It was a good day's selling today with a large crowd on hand. The quality yearlings on offer proved popular throughout the day. There's no doubt this sale is one of the value auctions of Australia: the sale has a great record of producing high class gallopers at bargain prices."
