Sunline's 1st Foal To Trial April 3

Monday, 26th March 2007

Meanwhile the 1st foal from 13-time Gr1-winning champion Kiwi racemare Sunline (Desert Sun-Songline by Western Symphony) "is set to make her 1st public appearance," reported NZ Thoroughbred Marketing. The unnamed Rock Of Gibraltar filly will contest a juvenile heat at the Pukekohe trials on April 3 & trainer Stephen McKee (who co-bred & shares in ownership of the filly with his father Trevor McKee & Thayne Green) commented: "She runs along nicely. She's not overly big, but a lot of the Rock Of Gibraltars are like that. She was broken-in & put out for a spell & she's having her 2nd prep now." Meanwhile Sunline's 2nd foal (the Zabeel colt who fetched NZ$2 million when bought by Aucklander Don Ha at this year's NZ Bloodstock Premier Sale at Karaka) is still at Cambridge Stud & McKee confirmed: "He returned to Cambridge after the sale & he'll be broken-in after Easter." Since leaving the Zabeel colt, Sunline has been served by Arrowfield Stud sire Hussonet.
