Wynn-Roth Withdraw From New York Racing Bidding
Thoroughbred Racing New York (a group led by Las Vegas casino developer Steve Wynn & including real estate developers Richard Bronson & Steve Roth) has withdrawn from the bidding process to run New York's Aqueduct, Belmont Park & Saratoga racetracks, reported thoroughbredtimes.com. The group announced "it did not have enough time to prepare a thoughtful proposal". NY Governor Eliot Spitzer has set a deadline of March 31 after reopening the bidding process; the current franchise (held by the New York Racing Association) expires on December 31.
